Comics Bulletin Reviews Hotwire: Requiem for the Dead #2

“Hotwire seems to have taken this concept in a more mature themed route, and it works. The characters are believable. Alice is given more depth in this issue as she explains her past and how she became a police officer. She’s actually shown as a normal person as she gets drunk and even has problems with her parents. I found that I’ve come to like her character. The art in this series really gives it its own life. Steve Pugh’s art is awesome. It has this realism to it that also lends itself very well to fantasy and horror. Everything looks like it belongs on the page together. I was worried when I first saw his art that it might not mix well with the spirit aspects of the series, but they blend perfectly. Every character looks alive. There are no stale or forced poses and the book just looks great.”
