RYDER ON THE STORM #3 (of 3)
Writer: David Hine
Art: Wayne Nichols and Hugo Petrus
Colors: Feigiap Chong and Sansan Saw of Sixth Creation
Letters: Richard Starkings & COMICRAFT’S Jimmy Betancourt
Our tale of Daemons and their baby-boom of conquest comes to an end for now, with Ryder making his choice… is he human or Daemon? All the pieces to this supernatural horror mystery are laid out, and what’s happened to whom and who was responsible for it all comes to light. This series was really well done and I liked it a lot. Clever and creepy (on several levels), the third issue culminates in one of those great horror movie battles where all the clever planning unravels and it become one big messy clusterf— that requires a LOT of improvisation before either side can claim a real win.
And, of course, it has that highly impressive painted look that helps make Radical’s art so… well… radical.
Fans of detective stories and horror comics, this one’s for you.
4 out of 5 stars.
